Abcam Launches Next-Gen ELISA, Wider Dynamic Range Delivers Results in Less Time

Abcam, a Danaher company, is introducing its next-generation enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) platform. This chemiluminescent platform, called SimpleStep Ignite, provides faster, higher-quality results without compromising data integrity.

Abcam Platform Improves on ELISAs

Versus traditional colorimetric ELISAs, Abcam says SimpleStep Ignite has 50 times the sensitivity and 35 times’ breadth of measuring range. This design can yield results in as little as 55 minutes, up to six times faster than traditional ELISAs.

This improves quantification of both low- and high-abundance targets in a singular streamlined workflow.

The end goal, Abcam says is to help scientists move faster from results to decisions. The company acknowledges that research timelines can be tight, and sample volumes precious.

Assay performance is often a critical rate-limiter; SimpleStep Ignite has the ability to increase daily data output while reducing reruns.

Next-Generation Specs

The chemiluminescent detection integrates with Abcam’s optimized technology to strengthen signals, lower background, and standardize quantification. Optimized antibody pairs used to build each kit enhance batch-to-batch performance.

High- and low-abundance targets can be quantified with the same kit, using fewer incubations and a simple, single-wash protocol. This supports plate-by-plate studies as well as higher throughput screening.

Reproducibility of results, Abcam says, extends to serum, plasma, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and more, encouraging more confident decision-making.
